Chevrolet Goes to War |
| |
|
| |
1941
Chevrolet builds a record 1.6 million cars and trucks in the '41 model year. Our
advertising this year claims, "Bigger is Better"Chevrolet is awarded a U.S.
Government contract to build 75-mm high-explosive shells as well as shooting
parts for a 90-mm anti-aircraft gun capable of firing a projectile of five
miles. Chevrolet also manufactures the highly complicated Pratt & Whitney
aircraft engines used on long-range bombers to attack targets in Germany. |

For Victory!" print advertising |

1945
The success of Chevrolet's tremendous wartime role lays in the genius of its
peacetime production philosophy. Decentralized, highly flexible, local
responsibility makes possible the almost overnight conversion of its plants to
building and supplying the war machine. Chevrolet is proud of its contribution
to the victory in Europe and the Pacific. |
